What the .....?!?

So a few weeks ago about a month ago, I met up with someone I thought was my friend. This was guy that I had talked to on facebook for a while and had got to know through facebook via chatting on the messenger or talking on the phone. Initially, he seemed like a cool person that I could get to know and become friends with. We would debate about things our differences of opinion about religion, relationships, marriage, life, general stuff. So of course I thought he would be a cool person to get to know off line. Or so I thought.

Now mind you I was clear with this person that we were friends, I never made any attempt to be or get into a relationship with him as it was never my intention toward him. (keep that in mind) So anyway, I think I'm too nice at times, really, I need to learn how not to be "nice" in a nice way, whatever that means. (Does that make sense?). So I happened to be talking to him on the phone about the movie I wanted to see Why did I get married 2 by Tyler Perry. He was pessimistic about it, which now that I think about it he really never had a lot of nice things to say about anything and always want to "debate" what he thought was right. At any rate, that has nothing to do with what I'm talking about here, back on topic. So I told him that I was going to see the movie and I thought since we had been talking on the phone and on facebook for some time it would be a good way to meet in person. Since essentially it's wasn't a "date" type of enviornment, at least not to me. So I asked him if he wanted to come, he said he would come, but when the clock struck "movie time" he had all kind of excuses why he couldn't make it. Whatever, so I went to the movie anyway because I was going whether he wanted to go or not.

The next day, why I agreed to this I have no idea maybe I was caught up on the idea of finally putting a face to the name/person I had been debating with and talking to all this time. Anyway, we talked on the phone the next day via text, of course I got on him for his lame excuses as to why he couldn't show up to the movies after I cut my toe going into the movie theater (another story for another day). At any rate, we decided to meet up and since he didn't show up to the movie the night before I told him that he would have to pay for dinner, he asked me where I wanted to go so I told him. Now when it came time to meet at the restraunt this guy was not there at all. Remember I said I was too nice. Well I am because I ended up waiting over 45 min for him to show up at the place after I had planned to leave 30 min into waiting. I swear I need to learn to just leave when my intincts tell me. So as I'm in line ordering my food to go, this guy comes up behind me and taps me on the shoulder and introduces himself. I tell him, hey I'm leaving, I've waited long enough, so he proceeds to tell me that he already got a table and "convinces" me to stay.

OMG, why did I do that. Anyway, so we had dinner, ( the food I ordered I had sent back and got my money back, my thinking is this you ask me to stay, ok I'll stay and you'll pay, and that he did). Okay so I did this on purpose because I waited over 45 min for him, I ordered, what I really wanted off of the menu, yes it was way more expensive than what I ordered before, but whatever, you make me wait and ask me to stay after I decided to leave, you pay (so I decide to get "tough" with it all after the fact that I know I've been too "nice" at this point). So the next day he decides to text me because I had left him a voicemail message telling him I was leaving, actually about 2 or 3 messages because I thought he wasn't going to show up. So he texts me telling me that I'm funny of course he is being sarcastic. So we end up talking on the phone about it and this fool want's to argue about him being late and tried to convince me that I was late. At that point I was threw completely and just hung up the phone because I don't have time for foolishness, anymore.

I should have just left the resturaunt when I had the first initiative to do it 15 min into waiting for him to show up. This fool decided to post a bunch of "anonymous" comments about our meeting and was using it as comedic anecdotes. I knew he was talking about me a few of the comments I let slide because hey I can turn the other cheek, but when he added the comment with an acronym that had the letter "B" in it that clearly meant the "B" word, it was on and poppin then. I don't care who you are, you will not call me a "B" and get away with it.

So needless to say I sent him a letter (privately) on facebook advising him that I didn't appreciate being called that name, in so many words. Why did I do that.... It turned into a fiasco of sorts. Finally long story short I had to block that fool from my facebook and phone. Crazy. I should have known, but the "nice" side of me wanted to see the brighter side and believe that he couldn't possibly be that crazy. Lesson learned to say the least.

The moral of this situation, at least what I walked away and learned from it is this, when you see a red flag, RUN as fast as you can! Even if he is just a friend, a  red flag is a red flag, period.

Be blessed and a blessing to others, but be wise don't waste your time with fools. Learn from my experiences, your time is more precious than that and life is too short to waste it.

~Love Always~
